Heres a up and coming 39 Pontiac
My friend and owner of a small hot rod and fab shop had this car dropped in his lap. its a 1939 Pontiac. Its been Frankensteined quite a few times over its life. It has a V8 and straight axle. Hes going to try to create a Gasser out of it. He also has a 50 Ford that's been customized.
Getting more work done!
OK its been quite a while since my last confession (lol). I had the Dodge towed to my friends fab shop this morning. Getting some brackets to hold the front end on properly. I was trying to do that part my self but found it to be over challenging. Trying to match 60 year old parts with 21 year old parts is something i have not mastered yet. There also installing the rad, exhaust and break lines. Pats drive line is going to be doing up a drive shaft for it. I'm hoping to be driving it by the summer. this is something I've been saying since I bought the car 4 years ago. Finding time and patience seems to be the biggest factor in this process. I usually blame it on the money tree but that's not the complete truth. If there are parts I need I would be able to scrape up the money some where. I took a couple pictures of it on the hoist.

My new desk!
Ive spent a week on a desk project for my self. I found a desk in a barn a few town away form here. Its a late 1800's partners desk but not sure from where. The desk was too far gone to restore back to orignal and I then decided to make it retro. The top was to damaged and a new one was under creation. I was looking for something that was a little ruff around the edges but not to mid-evil. Something that had a hint of the 50's and some modern. A partners desk has drawers on both sides of the desk with a huge desk top. The new top was shortened and then 2nd set of drawers were removed. Hidden doors were put in where the drawers used to be that now house my computer. Im very pleased with the out come and am thinking of building another.

Here's a good one. On Saturday morning I was heading to pick up a friend and then off to work. As I was pulling up to a set of lights a "67" Firebird pulled in front of me, slowly. It then pulled off the road on a weird angle; like it stalled. As I swerve to go around the Firebird I noticed the smoke coming form the front of the hood. I said to my friend jokingly "oh no over heated." As I stopped at the light a guy in a truck pulled up beside me, got out and knocked on my truck window. I rolled the window down the man said in a panic "Do you have a fire extinguisher?" As I look in my rear view mirror I see flames coming out of the hood of the "67." I quickly and safely pull a u-turn and ran over to the car. The owner (and another guy that pulled over) are trying to out the fire with water. You know what happens when you put water on a fuel fire! The problem spread quickly. Now we have a fire! As we stood watching this poor muscle car burn, all we could do is wait for the fire trucks the arrive. I notice a truck and boat coming down the road. Being a recent boat owner I knew there must be a fire extinguisher on board. I quickly ran over to the truck and asked "do you have a fire extinguisher in the boat?" He replied with a "ya" and we (him, his wife and I) ran to the boat. His wife was moving stuff around and couldn't find it. Finally the guy jumped in the boat and found it. He began to pull on the extinguisher but was unable to remove it from its harness. I jumped in the boat, released the lock and ran for the hopeless Firebird. I pulled the pin and put the fire to rest saving the car! The owner was excited about saving his pride and joy from a most certain death. The fire trucks arrived about 4-5 minutes later (after going the wrong way up the street from the lights) I guess this is my good karma for the week. Being a car buff I couldn't watch it burn. More then glad I could help keep a classic from going to the shit heap!

Time to throw some more $$$$ at it!
K, the poor things been sittin' for about a year and a half since any works been done to to it.
I've finally got the Hooker long headders on it. There was a lot of smashing and bending and swearing involved but there in! I also put in new bearings and races and fresh spindels. I've cut the body damage out from under the passenger side and am making new roll pan. Seems to get harder and harder to find the time and help building this car. Its going to happen, its just going to take a lot longer then planed. Here's some more recent pics of my gem to sooth your eyes.

Paris Mazda
Ok its been a while since ive fired up the brain since my last blog. Ive since experienced a fantastic trip to London, Paris and German. It was an eye opener to the great variety of cars on the market today. There was a great one off car I found while touring Paris. They were shooting a commercial for this car on the main enterance to Napoleons estate. Unlike any Mazada ive ever seen it had extreme features and style. I dont have any info on the car yet but will be doing some home work on the car. Heres somes pick for your viewing pleasure.
